Getting Started | Business Idea Competition

You just need to have a business idea to start your entrepreneurial journey. The EnterPRize Business Idea Competition is an easy-to-enter warm-up round for the EnterPRize Business Plan Competition. The Business Idea consists os a structured short, written description of the product/service idea, the market opportunity, your competitive advantage, and a brief description of the skills, experience and achievements that qualifies the team to execute on this idea.

To submit your participation, you only need to develop the following areas in a maximum of 1,100 words:

  • Product/Service description - 300 words
  • Target Market - 300 words
  • Competitive Landscape - 300 words
  • Execution - 100 words
  • Team - 100 words

This guidelines are intended to assist participants in both EnterPRize Business Idea and/or Plan Competition in preparing submission of the Business Idea or Executive Summary. Although there is no one "right way" to prepare a Business Idea or Executive Summary, this guidelines should help you focus on the important elements necessary to prepare a clear, concise and persuasive summary.

Submit your Business Idea!

Only on-line submission will be accepted for the Business Idea Competition. After registering, you will be able to submit your business idea or executive summary until the deadline.

Business Idea Competion (Phase I) begins on March 1st, 2012!

Eligibility

Winners of the (2005-2011) Business Plan Competition are not eligible to participate in the 2012 Business Idea (Phase I) or Business Plan (Phase II).

EnterPRize defines winners as those individuals that were part of a team that received any of the grand cash ($25k, $15k, $10k) and/or in-kind prizes offered in Phase II of the Competition ("Winners"). All other previous participants are welcomed to re-submit their busness ideas, hopefully after a thorough review and improvement.

Confidentiality

Participants should be aware that neither organizers of the competition nor mentors, judges and sponsors of the competition will be required, nor should they be asked, to sign non-disclosure agreements. 

EnterPRize 2012 will ask all who view the business ideas and plans to abide by our Privacy Policy. 

Participants will be required to sign a Participant Agreement and are encouraged to be selective about what they disclose, to label plans and contents with the words “CONFIDENTIAL AND PROPRIETARY” and to seek legal counsel if they have any further questions regarding the legal protection of their ideas.
